LifeWallet, LLC (“LifeWallet”) understands the importance of privacy to our users. This Privacy Policy will tell you what information we collect about our clients, and how we use it.  This will also explain the choices you have regarding how your personal information (or that of your patient) is used, and how we protect it. We urge you to read this policy carefully. While these terms and conditions are intended for your personal use, they are also intended for use by healthcare professionals who use this site to communicate with, assess and/or treat their patients. References to "LifeWallet" means LifeWallet LLC, including any company that LifeWallet controls (for example, a subsidiary that LifeWallet LLC owns). LifeWallet may share information among its subsidiaries or sites that it owns or controls, but will be protected hereunder. LifeWallet may revise and update this Privacy Policy, at any time. Your continued use of this LifeWallet site means that you accept any such changes.

Privacy Laws

As you know, the US Federal Government and most states have laws that protect personal information from public disclosure.  Such laws are stringent and, at the federal level, include the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 in the United States.  Most of these laws forbid the public disclosure of personal information about a person or patient, without their consent.  LifeWallet makes every effort to secure the information that you upload to this site, but can provide no absolute guaranty against unauthorized access by third persons over whom we have no control.  We also do not control the persons to whom you provide or share your site passwords and access information.  Therefore, it is your responsibility to control access to your passwords and login information.

Data Usage and Ownership

Any health information that you submit to our site is owned by you or your patient, as applicable.  Notwithstanding, you and/or your patient allow us to use any such data on a de-identified basis such as, for example, understanding your likes and dislikes, your search and reading tendencies and other matters. Such data also includes information about your health and wellness, such as medications that you are on, your age, general health, specific conditions, geographic location, and medical history. You agree that LifeWallet may sell your de-identified data to third parties for use in reports, studies, analytics and statistics.  The term “de-identify” means that your data has been stripped of information that enables a third party from identifying you or your patients. If you terminate your relationship with LifeWallet, you will then be entitled to one (1) copy of your personal data on the site.   You may request it in writing to  Such requests may not be made later than 30 days’ post- termination.  Should your data exceed specified storage sizes, you may be charged for a downloadable copy of your data.  However, you agree that LifeWallet may retain your data for the purposes described above.

Data Protection

The security of your information (or your patient’s) is important to us.  When you enter information (including health information) into our site, we encrypt its transmission through the use of SSL connections (Secure Socket Layer technology).  We will retain your information (or your patient’s) for as long as your account is active, or it is used to provide services to you (or your patient).  At any time, you may remove your information (or your patient’s), or instruct us to remove it, but you should be aware that it may not be possible to remove every record that you have provided from our servers. LifeWallet tools that collect and store data allow you to correct, update or review information you have submitted, by going back to the specific tool, logging-in and making the desired changes. We will also retain your data, if necessary, to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes and enforce our agreements.


Access to some LifeWallet interactive tools/services may be limited to users who have registered. Some tools do not retain your information, while others do. You may be asked to provide authorization for uses of your information with certain tools. LifeWallet will not make use of your information beyond the permitted uses in this Privacy Policy, unless you provide additional consent. The LifeWallet site will provide you with a secure place to gather, store, manage and share your information (or your patient’s information) as part of a comprehensive health and wellness solution.  LifeWallet may place Web Beacons or Cookies in your informational Information, solely to conduct ways of studying how we may offer better and more advanced delivery mechanisms for you, and to enhance the functionality included within our solution. We may also use and sell your information to third party on a de-identified and aggregated basis for research purposes.

Market Research

If you are a healthcare professional, LifeWallet may conduct online research surveys through email invitations, pop-up surveys and online focus groups. When participating in a survey, we may ask that you enter your personal information. The personal information that you submit may be used by LifeWallet for research and measurement purposes such as, for example, measuring the effectiveness of content, advertising or programs.  Market research surveys conducted by or on behalf of LifeWallet will also contain a link to this Privacy Policy.

Personal Information

If you choose to register or update your member profile, or access certain functionality on the LifeWallet site, you may be required to submit Personal Information. “Personal Information” means information that we can use to identify or contact you, such as your name, address, telephone number or email address. Personal Information also includes information about you such as your age, sex and medical history, among other things.  Some of our interactive tools and services may request that you submit your health information, which would also be considered Personal Information. You must ensure the accuracy of the Personal Information that you submit to LifeWallet. Inaccurate information will also affect your experience using the LifeWallet site, and our ability to contact you, if needed.

Newsletters, Advertisements & Emails to You

At the time of registration, and at other times, you may be asked provide us with Personal Information. If you do, we will automatically register you to receive recurring informational/promotional newsletters, advertisements and emails, such as those pertaining to a specific health conditions or topics. If you no longer wish to receive such communications, you may unsubscribe, or change your communications preferences in your web browser.

Community, Health Communities, Blogs and Other Public Forums

LifeWallet features community and public forums where users (with similar medical conditions or health issues), may share information, or post questions for experts to answer. We also offer online discussions moderated by physicians and experts. Our communities are open to the public, and should not be considered private. Any information (including Personal Information, about you or your patient) that you share in an online community area including a chat room, blog or online discussion, is open to the public and is not private. You should think carefully before posting any Personal Information in any public forum. What you post can be seen, disclosed to or collected by third parties, and may be used by others in ways that we cannot control or predict, and that could be used improperly to contact you for unauthorized purposes. As with any public forum on any site, the information you post may also show up in third-party search engines.  If you mistakenly post Personal Information in our community areas, and would like it removed, you can send us an email to request that we remove it. In some cases, we may not be able to remove your Personal Information.

Information That You Send to LifeWallet

This Privacy Policy does not apply to information, content, business information, ideas, concepts or inventions that you send to LifeWallet. If you want to keep content private, do not send it to LifeWallet.

Cookies and Web Beacons

We collect Non-Personal Information about your use of the LifeWallet site through Cookies and Web Beacons. “Non-Personal Information” means information that is de-identified. “Cookies” are small data files that are stored on the hard drive of the computer that you use to view a web site. Every computer that accesses the LifeWallet site is assigned a different Cookie. “Web Beacons” are graphic image files imbedded in a web page typically used to monitor activity on a web page, and returns information to its home server (which can belong to the host site, a network advertiser or some other third party). Third parties acting on our behalf may also use Cookies or Web Beacons to collect certain Non-Personal Information about your use of the LifeWallet web sites including, without limitation, the health topics you view, your purchase tendencies, your likes and dislikes, and other matters. These third-party advertising providers are acting on LifeWallet’s behalf, and will comply with this Privacy Policy and the separate Advertising Policy that we maintain.

Non-Personal Information Collected by Third Parties Not Acting on LifeWallet’s Behalf

Sponsors or advertisers on the LifeWallet site may use their own Cookies, Web Beacons or other online tracking technologies Some advertisers use third parties to serve their ads, and to monitor user responses.  These ad servers may collect Non-Personal Information through the use of Cookies or Web Beacons on the LifeWallet site.  We do not control how third parties use Cookies or Web Beacons, or how they manage Non-Personal Information that they obtain from the LifeWallet site.

Updating/Removing Your Personal Information

If you do not want your Personal Information used by LifeWallet, you should not register as a member or use this site. You may correct, update or review Personal Information that you have previously submitted, by going back to the specific site, logging-in, and making the desired change. You may also update any Personal Information that you have submitted by contacting us.  If you have registered, and desire to delete any Personal Information that you have provided, please contact us. Upon your request, we will delete your Personal Information from our active databases, but it will remain on our inactive databases. Remember, however, that we may continue to use your Personal Information on a de-identified basis as described above.  If you decide not to receive personalized email or secure electronic messages, you may "Opt-out" by changing your email preferences, or by following the unsubscribe instructions included in each promotional email or newsletter. You may also change the user settings in the site.

How Information About You and Your Patient Is Used

Information collected by LifeWallet about you and your patient is used to: administer your/their account;  provide you/them with access to particular tools and services;  respond to your inquiries;  obtain your feedback about the LifeWallet site;  statistically analyze user behavior and activity including how frequently areas of the site are visited; provide you and people with similar demographic characteristics and interests, with more relevant content or advertising both on the LifeWallet site, or on another site that you visit after you leave the LifeWallet site;   conduct research and measurement activities, including those described below.  send you/them personalized emails or secure electronic messages pertaining to your health interests, including news, announcements, reminders and opportunities from LifeWallet; or send you/them relevant offers and informational materials on behalf of our sponsors pertaining to your/their health interests. LifeWallet may combine Personal and Non-Personal Information it collects about you and your patient, and may combine it with information from external sources. We also use Cookies to conduct surveys for our own use, and on behalf of our advertisers. Research and Measurement Activities

Personal Information and Non-Personal Information that LifeWallet collects, may be combined with other information that it collects for research and measurement purposes. This information may include your/your patient’s age, sex, illnesses and medications, and information about you/them such as demographics, geographics, personal interests, purchase activity and other information. This Information will always be de-identified, and will likely be aggregated, and may be sold to third parties. In all instances, your Personal Information will not be traceable back to you, without your consent.

With Whom Do We Share Your Information?

Except as described in this Privacy Policy or as specifically agreed to by you, LifeWallet will not disclose any Personal Information it gathers from you through the LifeWallet site. We may only release Personal Information to third parties: (1) on a de-identified basis; (2) to comply with legal requirements such as a law, regulation, search warrant, subpoena or court order; or (3) in special cases, such as in response to a physical threat to you or others, to protect property or defend or assert legal rights. In addition, we may disclose Personal Information as described below. We may share Non-Personal Information (i.e., de-identified) that we have about you, including about your browsing activity on LifeWallet, with third party advertising service providers who may use this information, on our behalf, to help LifeWallet deliver advertising on the LifeWallet web sites as well as on other sites on the Internet.  In the event of a corporate change in control resulting from, for example, a sale to, or merger with, another entity, or in the event of a sale of assets or a bankruptcy, LifeWallet reserves the right to transfer your Personal Information to the new party that acquires its business or assets.  In the event of such a change, your Personal Information will continue to be treated in accordance with this Privacy Policy, unless any changes to the Privacy Policy are made in accordance with the section below that discusses “Changes to This Privacy Policy.”

Disclosures to LifeWallet Contractors

LifeWallet contractors sometimes have limited access to your Personal and Non-Personal Information while providing products or services to LifeWallet. These contractors include vendors and suppliers that provide us with technology, services, data analysis, research, advertising, marketing assistance and/or content, about the operation and maintenance of the LifeWallet Web Sites. We contractually require that our contractors: 1) protect the privacy of your Personal and Non-Personal Information consistent with this Privacy Policy; and 2) not use or disclose your Personal or Non-Personal Information for any purpose other than providing the limited service or function for LifeWallet that they have been asked to provide.


We are committed to protecting the privacy of children. The LifeWallet site is not designed or intended to attract children under the age of 13. The LifeWallet site does not collect Personal Information from any person we know is under the age of 13. A parent or guardian is solely responsible for providing supervision of a minor's use of the LifeWallet site. The parent or guardian assumes full responsibility for ensuring that the registration information is kept secure, and that the information submitted is accurate.  LifeWallet will not permit users under the age of 13 to register to use the LifeWallet site.  Furthermore, LifeWallet will not permit children between the ages of 13 and 18 to purchase goods or services through the LifeWallet site.
